The preservation of existing structures is without question, the ultimate in sustainability. Buildings constructed from the 19th and early 20th century were designed with many considerations for the natural environment, and so have inherent sustainable features. One of the many sustainable features was the carpeting.

• Carpeting used in these historic structures was always woven. Woven carpets using wool, cotton, and jute are historically accurate for buildings built in the United States prior to 1960. Bloomsburg Carpet’s woven carpets use the same rapidly renewable materials today that were the standards for the carpet industry prior to the invention of tufted carpet and petroleum based nylon, polyester, and polypropylene carpet yarns.
• The looms of Bloomsburg Carpets, with the craftsmanship of its weavers, have an impressive history of providing woven carpets used in the preservation of historic American landmark buildings across the country. From “America’s Showplace for the Nation,” Radio City Music Hall, through the Senate and House Chambers of the United States Capitol to the Court Chamber of the United States Supreme Court, Bloomsburg Carpet is the woven carpet standard for America’s historic landmarks and architectural treasures.
